WARREN PARK HOUSE LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS

1)  Warren Park House League (WPHL) is governed by the GTHL, OMHA, and Hockey Canada WPHL follows their house league guidelines. WPHL Conveners have discretion to modify or institute playing "House Rules" that would benefit the registered players of the WPHL. House Rules are applied to enhance the safety and efficiency of the Warren Park league. House Rules may differ between divisions. Rules will be enforced by League Officials, Division Conveners and Referees. Game infractions are called by Referees, with suspensions determined by Head Referee and Conveners.

 

2) Only registered players with the WPHL are allowed to play in games and practices.

 

3)  There will be no harassment or abuse (physical or verbal) directed at league officials, game officials, conveners, coaches, players or arena staff. Any person guilty of such actions may be removed from league and barred from arena.  Immediate indefinite suspension, until review, will be assessed to any player or team official who uses racial slurs during or after game; fights before, during, or after a game or uses a hockey stick in a dangerous manner.

 

4)  There is no body checking in WPHL.

 

5)  All players must wear full hockey protective equipment at all times. Coaches have responsibility to ensure that all players abide by this and referees will monitor as well.  Neck guards are mandatory equipment.

 

6)  Players must wear uniforms provided for all games, matching socks must be worn.  No Select jerseys or socks are to be worn in House League.  If jersey or socks are lost, please notify league officials (convener via coach) and replacement will be provided.

 

7)  Medical clearance is required if a league official suspect player's safety may be in jeopardy.  League Officials, Conveners & Referees have discretion to disallow player participation.

 

8)  Only Registered coaches and assistants approved by League Officials will be permitted on bench during games and on ice during practices. No walking on ice by coaches at any time (except to tend to injured player). Absolutely no one permitted on ice during practices except players on teams practicing and coaches and assistants from those teams. Helmets must be worn by coaches and assistants at all times during practices. 

 

9)  Every attempt is made to balance the skill level of all teams within a division. Players may be moved to a different team at Conveners' discretion to ensure this.

 

10)  Teams play for division champions nearing end of season, play-off format may differ between divisions, format decide by division and league convener.

 

11)  If any person has ideas that may improve the HL, a complaint or concern, please contact a league official and a meeting will de set up to discuss issue.

 

12)  IT IS OUR LEAGUE'S GOAL TO ENSURE THAT ALL RECEIVE EQUAL PARTICIPATION AND EQUAL PLAYING TIME, PLAY IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FREE FROM INTIMIDATION, HAVE FUN, RECEIVE SKILL DEVELOPMENT, AND HAVE A POSITIVE HOCKEY EXPERIENCE.
